Flights to Kuala Lumpur (KUL)

Kuala Lumpur is the capital and largest city in Malaysia. The term Kuala Lumpur belongs to Malay which means ‘muddy confluence’. This is because it lies in the convergence of the Klang and Gombak rivers. The city is located inside Klang valley and the valley is bordered by the Titiwangsa Mountains. This amazing demographic location of the city blesses it with natural beauty.

Kuala Lumpur is also the financial, economic and cultural capital of Malaysia. It is one of the fastest-growing cities in terms of economic growth and population in South-East Asia. Many important political bodies are located in the city. It has been host to many international political, cultural and sporting events like Southeast Asian Games in 2017 and Commonwealth Games in 1998. The city underwent rapid industrialization and development recently. The classical example of this development is the tall twin buildings, the iconic Petronas Towers.

Tourism is one of the major contributors to the city’s economy as well. It witnesses around 8.9 million tourists annually. People are drawn each year to this exotic capital city because of its appealing lifestyle, world-class cuisine, tranquil beaches, outrageous fashion sense, and insane nightlife.

Kuala Lumpur also has a proper blend of traditional and modern attractions to entice people. It has Mogul-style domes, minarets, and skyscrapers. Relish a holiday in lush green parks, busy street markets, huge shopping malls, and beautifully designed temples and mosques of Indian, Chinese and Malay communities.

Tip: Kuala Lumpur is the sixth most visited city in the world and awarded World Book Capital 2020 by UNESCO.

Climatic Insight

Sitting between Titiwangsa Range in the east and Sumatra Island in the west, Kuala Lumpur possesses a tropical rainforest climate. The highest recorded temperature so far is 38 °C while the lowest recorded temperature being 17.8°C.
